Outside of work, lots of walking and playing of Castlevania-Symphony of the Night.

So...might not be posting on LJ much for awhile.

ERROR [02 Jul 2008|01:39am]

Fucking shit. I hate Windows Vista with a passion that would burn all carbon away from the planet's surface.

My computer has gone to shit and needs repair. Luckily, I had backed up all my important things onto discs months ago, and my last update to them was a day or two before this happened, so I won't be missing anything important should it come to erasing the hard drive. It's still a major fucking pain in the ass. I planned to update OR: Side Story and Penguin Chronicles this week with brand new strips, but now it'll have to wait at least a week.

Thanks to thinking ahead, I prevented an even larger crisis, but it's still a pain in the ass. So I'm on the desktop again. Maybe I'll be able to get some strip work done here, once I get over the aggravation.

I came upon some good news today, though. Chrono Trigger is coming to the DS! My favorite video game of all time. DO WANT. :D

It was just another day for me, basically. [30 Jun 2008|01:41am]

Yesterday was okay. I think I've had more people tell me happy birthday online than in real life. Thank you for the wishes. XD

Got my oldest brother and invited him for prime rib roast dinner. It was actually pretty good, except the fat in it made me a bit nauseous after a while. Took brother to the Grocery Outlet and I got a Grilling Steaks for Dummies for $4.99, mainly for that cool curved tool that I can use when grilling some steaks in the oven.

Just made an experimental dish a few minutes ago. It wasn't too bad, except it was a bit salty:

Magi's Experimental Potsticker Soup
Medium saucepan
Water, of course
Chopped up carrots
Chopped up green onions
Coleslaw mix (shredded cabbage basically)
Couple cubs of chicken boullion (this is what made it salty)
Pork Potstickers (I used 12 small ones)

Cook the first few in a saucepan. Once everything's all boiled up and the carrots are cooked through, add the potstickers. Let it boil until the potstickers start floating. Add into a bowl and enjoy. Use whatever veggies you choose. Potstickers and boullion can be any flavor you like.

Was in great condition, too. Only payed $7.15 plus expedited shipping, too (it still had the $4.99 Goodwill sticker on the back which I thought was pretty funny). Taped the inside of the hardback to be on the safe side since it was slightly separating, but other than that the pages and everything else was great. =3

Avatar change again, since every once in a while I get bored of the one I'm currently using. My updated ASPCA toolbar has this feature to where I can add email alerts to it, so I added my MSN and unused Gmail accounts. When I was messing around with MSN live I managed to get into my old Hotmail account and found an old Magica DeSpell user icon that I can no longer find on the internet (or I'm not looking hard enough). For the hell of it I Google imaged for some more and found a cool one from a clipart site and made an avatar out of it. Another clipart I made a signature pic out of for my FA forums account.

Also got bored of my current LJ layout so I picked a premade one. I made this as my entry footer for shits and giggles, though it may become annoying after a while, cause it shows on every single entry even on my friends page:

My sleeping cycle's thrown off like it usually is when I'm on break. I go to sleep around 5-7am then wake up around 3-4pm. I woke up around 4:40pm yesterday and it's 5:38 now. Insomnia's great, but it's also too hot out. Sometimes I'll end up having to sleep with nothing but a pair of panties on (omfg TMI Fatty!).

I did get my college grades. One D+, one C, and one W, which puts me on a Financial Aid suspension. This is mainly due to dropping classes two quarters in a row. I've been pretty discouraged and bored of college for the past two quarters, so mom's giving me the okay to take some time off. Our rent has been raised another $50, which makes it about $600, so it's giving her an opportunity to find another job and to find me one. We've been talking about about getting on the Pharmacy Technician program which will give training and pay at the same time. At the moment we're trying to find out what tests will need to be taken and the such.

Monday I was going through my DeviantArt account for the hell of it and noticed how many of my older deviations were missing thumbnails or full views. I spent about an hour or so fixing up thsoe deviations with files I had saved back on my computer, FA, or TLKFA accounts. Whatever I couldn't find I just deleted. A lot of shit I dumped into Scraps. Some I had to end up recategorizing since they were originally being used by the old categorization system. Pretty annoying how DA has become broken since Dev5 came around. It's either broken, down, or slow. I don't know how many times I came across that System Maintenance page while fixing up my submissions.

I remember years ago when my old friend's mom's old friend used to have a book containing old Mario comics. The one thing I remember the most from it is a "photo" of a baby Mario where he has his mustache stubble coming in. That was such the coolest Mario book ever when I was around 10 or younger.

Just for the heck of it I decided to search around for Mario Comics. At the same time I thought that I might as well search for some scans of Super Mario Adventures as well (I found these as PDF's on YoshiArt). I finally found it. I first found it on here, but at first I didn't catch the link up above until I decided to check out the other links for the heck of it. It was also on here but I didn't even notice it at first. I guess that happens when I mindlessly skim through things.

Searching for more info, I find that the comics this came from was from an old company called Valiant. They had individual Mario comics, which were called Nintendo Comics System that included Legend of Zelda, Captain N, Metroid, and other Nintendo related comics. Knowing now that they were the ones that made the baby Mario picture, and remembering that there was a book containing it, more searching came up with the book The Best of Super Mario Brothers, which contained the Valiant Mario comics.

I was going to settle with scans, but decided to search around to see if the actual book was being sold anyplace. I eventually found it on Amazon and bought myself a copy. I wanted to get Super Mario Adventures as well, but at the moment there's no copy available (I'll settle with YoshiArt's scans until I happen to find one when I have more money). I set the order on expedited shipping, which came to about $14.14 total, so maybe it will arrive by my birthday or around there. Right as I'm writing and editing this, I got the confirmation email from the seller about a half hour after I made the order. Fast! Hopefully it's in a good enough condition to satisfy. Seeing as it's an old book from 1990, it would probably be missing whatever cover jacket it might have, but as long as the innards of the book are good I'm fine with it. X3

This took almost 45 minutes to an hour to write out. Jesus. @_@

Pesci Bless You, George [23 Jun 2008|01:25am]

George Carlin

(1937-2008)

"Religion has actually conviced people that there's an invisible man. Living in the sky. Who watches everything you do every minute of every day of your life. And he has a list of ten things he does not want you to do. And if you do any, any, of these ten things, he has a special place full of fire and smoke and ash and torture where he will send you to suffer and burn and scream and cry forever and ever until the end of time. ... But he loves you."

Goodnight, funny man.

Apparently George Carlin has died from heart failure at the age of 71. I didn't think he was that old, to tell you the truth.

I never did watch any of his shows, but may he rest in piece.

Word is, hot evil dude in SCIV is named Algol. I prefer "hot evil dude," but it will simply have to do.

Edit-oh, and this site reports that T6 will be at E3 this year:

Didn't get much sleep last night. Maybe two hours because it was so hot then it got bright around 5am help.

Had to get up around 9 to help with the yard sale that I thought was going to be Saturday. Stayed there until around 3 or 4 then carried all of mine and mom's stuff back home. I was pretty sore and exhausted from that. I took a shower to get all the salt off and cool down the sunburn then crashed into bed until around 9.

I made $13, though. The neighbor lady still owes me $10 since she bought a couple of mom's things. So that'd make it around $23.
